JPD: He Held Loaded Gun To Her Head
Joliet Police arrested Edwards shortly before midnight Saturday.

JOLIET, IL - A 35-year-old Joliet man has been charged with aggravated domestic battery after Joliet Police say he held a gun to his girlfriend's head and threatened to pull the trigger. Stephen Edwards is also accused of smacking his victim in the head, causing her to become unconscious.
The incident that prompted police to arrest Edwards began around 11:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of Walsh Way. It was a domestic violence call.
"Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated she had head pain and dizziness due to being struck in the left side of her head by her ex-boyfriend Edwards. The victim stated that she and Edwards were in an argument, when Edwards struck her in the head, and she lost consciousness," Joliet Police reports show.

The woman also remembered that during the attack, Edwards went into his bedroom where he had a gun, reports state.
"The victim stated Edwards then loaded his handgun and held it to her head threatening her life over and over again. The victim was able to get away from Edwards and call 911," police said.

Police captured Edwards and delivered him to the Will County Jail. He was released from custody on Sunday night, jail logs show.
