He's also accused of threatening the woman with a knife on Joliet's near west side.

JOLIET, IL - A 32-year-old man who lives in Crest Hill is no longer in Will County's custody in connection with felony charges of aggravated domestic battery, including allegations he choked his girlfriend, threatened her with a knife and threw a drink on her. Joliet Police say they arrested Thomas John Hernandez around 9:30 p.m. last Friday in the 600 block of Raub Street, which is near Ruby Street.
When officers arrived at the domestic violence call, the woman told them "her boyfriend of two years, Hernandez, was yelling at her for asking him to leave a party. Hernandez started to call her derogatory names and threw a drink on her," police commented.
Then, tensions escalated.
