JTHS Board of Education Recognizes Joliet West Musicians
The JTHS Board of Education recognized Joliet West High School musicians for their successful participation in the JTHS Music Festival

On March 19, 2019, the Joliet Township High School Board of Education recognized Joliet West High School musicians for their successful participation in the JTHS Music Festival, sponsored by Eric Wellman, Alyson Bauman, and Peter Lipari.
“The festival is similar to the IHSA Solo and Ensemble contest in which the students prepare either a solo or ensemble and perform it in front of a judge. The students are then rated based on their performance and given a Division I, II or III,” said Peter Lipari, Orchestra Director at JTHS.
Eric Wellman, Director of Bands at Joliet West, said, “The thing that makes our festival slightly different is that the students also receive a clinic from their judge. I love that we are able to add this aspect to their performance, so that they can not only receive a rating but also receive valuable tips from professionals in the music education field. A very special thank you as well to Alyson Bauman, Assistant Director of Bands, for organizing the event for our students.”
