JTHS Marching Tigers Continue Competitive Season with Two Outstanding Performances
The Joliet West Marching Tigers gave outstanding performances at the Victor J. Andrew Marching Festival and the Metamora Marching Festival

The Joliet West Marching Tigers continued their competitive season recently with two outstanding performances. On October 3 the band, along with 14 other schools, traveled to the inaugural Victor J. Andrew Marching Festival in Tinley Park, IL. The Marching Tigers finished 4th in class 3A.
The top performances continued on October 10 when the Marching Tigers competed in the Metamora Marching Festival in Metamora, IL. Twenty bands performed at this event, as well as the Illinois State University Big Red Marching Machine in exhibition. The band finished 2nd in class 4A at the show and took home caption awards for Best Winds and Best Auxiliary. The percussion section also performed in the Midwest Percussion Cooperation event before the show and placed 1st in Open Class.
“We are very happy with the progress the band is making from week to week,” said JWHS Band Director Eric Wellman. “The students had a great week of rehearsals and it showed in their excellent performance at Metamora”.

The band will finish its competitive season on October 24th when the Marching Tigers travel to Western Illinois University.
