Judge's Son Louis Goode Released From Jail
Here's why he was set free Tuesday afternoon.

JOLIET, IL - After spending the past two and a half months living inside the Will County Jail, the son of long-time Will County Circuit Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes left county detention on Tuesday afternoon, jail logs show. Channahon resident Louis Goode had been in Will County's custody since he turned himself into authorities on Dec. 6. Goode faces four felony domestic violence charges, his latest scrape with Will County's justice system.
Late week, long-time Joliet criminal defense attorney George Lenard filed a motion with Will County Judge Edward Burmila asking the judge to reduce his client's bail. Lenard's motion reminded the judge that Goode was charged with domestic battery, a Class 4 felony, and that Goode's bail had been set at $50,000, with 10 percent needed to post as bond.
According to Lenard's filing, "the defendant has been evaluated by the Family Guidance Centerand they have recommended that he receive an inpatient level of treatment … the defendant further requests that the court order either the Will County Sheriff's Office to transport him to the treatment facility or allow a family member to transport him to the treatment facility."

Attorney Lenard's filing asked the judge to reduce Goode's bail to a $50,000 recognizance bond "with the condition that he enter a treatment facility to receive inpatient treatment counseling." The Joliet location for the Family Guidance Center is located in the 2400 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Judge Burmila went along with the request to release Goode on a recognizance bond, but the judge set the personal recognizance bond at $250,000, rather than $50,000.

The judge ordered sheriff's deputies to transport Goode away from the jail to the inpatient treatment facility. Goode was also notified he cannot have any contact with the victim, who is his estranged wife, Tanya Brandolino, court records show.
Back in November, she filed a petition at the Will County Courthouse for divorce. The two were married in July 2016 and had a child in 2013.
"Irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties leading to the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage and further attempts to reconcile would be impracticable and not in the best interests of the parties," the divorce petition stated.
Joliet Patch previously reported that the 33-year-old Goode had punched his wife in her mouth back on Oct. 12 and then he yanked her out of a Hummer Jeep, left her on a road near Coal City area and then drove off, according to court documents.
Brandolino obtained a protection order against Goode and the felony domestic violence charges are now pending against him. "I believe he could kill me. I don't know what he is capable of and am fearful of what he might do next if he is released from jail," Brandolino wrote the court.
