Killing At Murphy's Express: Joliet Senior Citizen Arrested
John Harold Williamson, 68, was booked into the Will County Jail on Wednesday. His bail is set at $50,000.

JOLIET, IL — John Harold Williamson, a Joliet senior citizen from the 1200 block of Wisconsin Street, was booked into the Will County Jail on Wednesday in connection with the Aug. 1 deadly stabbing of a man at the Murphy's Express gas station on West Jefferson Street.
The victim, 59-year-old Rickey Moffett, died of his chest wounds a week later.
Now, two-and-a-half months after the homicide, Williamson was charged with involuntary manslaughter by the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow.

Williamson has retained private counsel. During Wednesday's court hearing, downtown Joliet lawyer Chuck Bretz appeared on Williamson's behalf.
Back in August, Joliet Patch reported that around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 1, Joliet police responded to the Murphy's Express gas station at 2504 West Jefferson St. after learning of a stabbing victim on the property.

Moffett entered the gas station and indicated to an employee he was injured. Joliet police say he was stabbed in the chest. He was in critical condition for five days before he died.
Following Moffett's death, Joliet police announced that the crime was being investigated as a homicide.
As for Williamson, the Wisconsin Street resident was let out of the Will County Jail around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, after posting 10 percent of his bail, jail records reflect.
