Knife Struggle At Lois Place Apartments, Joliet Man Jailed: JPD

Marqo Rankin was located in the 1900 block of Black Road where he was taken into custody without incident, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — A 26-year-old Joliet man from the 200 block of Madison Street was taken away in handcuffs following a knife incident at the Lois Place apartments this week, Joliet police arrest reports show.

Marqo Rankin was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on charges of domestic battery and aggravated assault.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the incident happened Tuesday around 11:05 p.m.

English said the following events led to Rankin's felony arrest:

Officers responded to an apartment in the 900 block of Lois Place for a domestic disturbance.

During an argument, Rankin pulled the woman to the ground by her hair. Rankin then punched the victim in the head. Rankin also pulled out his knife during the attack ,and the victim suffered a cut on her finger while the two struggled over the knife.

Rankin ran from the apartment prior to the arrival of Joliet police cars, however, the officers captured him a short time later in the 1900 block of Black Road.
