Born on July 17, 1945, in Joliet, Leonard graduated from Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1963. He was the owner and operator of LC Concrete and retired from Carpenters Local #174, focusing his skills as a manager of construction with Phoenix Developers. Leonard was a longtime member of Life Church of Joliet. Len loved his family deeply, especially his children and grandchildren, and he cherished his friendships. As a lifelong resident of Joliet and Shorewood, he had a vast network of friends and acquaintances. He often encountered familiar faces wherever he went, even once meeting an old friend from Joliet while traveling through an airport in Rome, Italy. An avid sports fan, Len enjoyed racquetball and golf, often playing with friends and family. One of his memorable achievements was fulfilling a bucket list item by golfing at St. Andrews golf course in St. Andrews, Scotland, in 2012. A proud American, Leonard served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in South Korea. He had a great passion for history and travel, making a poignant visit to Normandy, France, to pay homage to WWII veterans at the Normandy American Cemetery. Leonard's legacy of love, service, and friendship will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
