
Leroy Morris Sr.
Age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, with his family by his side.
Leroy was born in Villa Ridge, IL. He moved to Joliet in 1965. He was employed at Statesville Correction Center and then at Uniroyal. Leroy was baptized at an early age and was a member of St. John M.B. Church in Mounds, IL. He later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David G. Latimore.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Orland and Nellie Morris; one daughter, Valerie Morris; four brothers; and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Bobbie (Dixon) Morris; seven children, LaFonda (Charles) McIntosh, Angela (Kenneth) Travis, Keith (Clarissa) Morris, Sherry (Bryant) Martin, Stacey (Milton) Jones and Leroy Morris Jr., all of Joliet, IL, and Clyde Cruthird Sr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Lee (Gwen) Morris of Oklahoma and Jacob Morris of New York; one sister, LaWanda (Melvin) Smith of Ohio; a brother-in-law, James Tucker of Villa Ridge; a host of relatives; two longtime friends, George Cole of Joliet and Glynn Beagle of Mounds, IL.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home and Friday, October 4, 2013, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion M.B., 402 Singleton Place, Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 AM, Pastor David G. Latimore, officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
