Lima Burns Sister's Eye With Cigarette: Courthouse
Nicholas Lima, 39, also spent time in Will County Jail in 2017, 2015 and 2012.

JOLIET, IL - Nicholas Lima has spent his entire week inside familiar territory, the Will County Adult Detention Facility, following his latest felony arrest by the Will County Sheriff's Department. This time, the 39-year-old Lima faces two counts of domestic battery. Court documents indicate Lima is a convicted domestic abuser and his last domestic violence crime occurred in Will County around 2012.
An emergency order of protection taken out by his sister and granted this week by a Will County judge sheds light on Lima's latest brush with the police of Will County. The incident occurred at his family's apartment in the unit block of Bradford Road.
On Sunday, May 27, "Nick was heavily intoxicated and started arguing with me," Lima's sister wrote the court. "He started holding me down, and I tried to push him off me and he started choking me. He burned me under my left eye with a cigarette. My cousin pulled Nick off me. I left and went to the police and made a report ... they met me at the apartment and arrested Nick."

Apparently, Lima's anger and his rage toward his family has intensified in recent days, court records indicate.
"Two weeks ago Nick was intoxicated and was mad and irritated and grabbed me and shoved me against the wall and was yelling at me," the protection order states.

Lima's sister also worries about the prospect of a murder happening.
"I am afraid of Nick eventually killing me or someone close to me," the court papers show. "My mom eventually moved out of state because she was afraid of him killing her."
A Will County judge set Lima's bail at $25,000. Still as of Friday, June 1, he remained in the jail unable to come up with $2,500 cash to regain his freedom.
