Little Girl Injured in Fire Dies at Hospital
The girl was found unconscious in her burning Dover Street home.
A 7-year-old girl pulled from her burning home Friday morning died at a Joliet hospital.
Mia Sykes was pronounced dead shortly after noon Friday at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room.

Firefighters arrived at the house about 9:45 a.m. Sykes’ mother was outside and told them her daughter was still in the house.
The fire remains under investigation. Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office has yet to determine the cause of Sykes’ death.
