Loaded Gun Falls As Defendant Runs From Joliet Police: Cops
The driver was identified as Detrion Anderson, age 29, and he was arrested without incident at the SUV, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police say two men from Chicago, Khalil Anderson, age 20, and Detrion Anderson, age, 29, were arrested on the east side in connection with allegations of selling marijuana, fleeing the police and unlawful possession of a loaded gun.
Khalil Anderson was brought to the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and obstructing a peace officer, while Detrion Anderson was booked into his jail cell on charges of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and also fleeing and eluding a peace officer.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the Andersons were pulled over in their Dodge Charger near Hobbs Avenue and Henry Street for disobeying a stop sign at 5:38 p.m. on Friday.

According to the arrest reports:
- The driver refused to stop and drove from the officers at a high rate of speed.
- Officers caught up to the vehicle in the 800 block of Julia Avenue at which time the passenger, Khalil Anderson, ran from the vehicle.
- A handgun fell from Khalil Anderson’s waistband during the chase.
- Officers caught up to Khalil Anderson and placed him into custody and the officers recovered the loaded handgun dropped by Khalil Anderson.
- The driver, Detrion Anderson, was placed into custody without incident at the vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle, officers recovered suspected cannabis packaged for sale.
- Detrion Anderson was also cited for improper turn signal, disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
