Local author to sign books and read poetry at The Book Market

Crest Hill, IL: Local indie author, Amanda Meyer, announces the debut of her first two books with a meet the author event at The Book Market.

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, The Book Market will host Mrs. Meyer as she signs books from her first two publications, the phoenix and Ruby Wren's Mindful Morning. Meyer will be present signing copies from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. She plans to share an excerpt from the phoenix at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. Meyer will share a story time of Ruby Wren's Mindful Morning.

Adults who enjoy poetry will enjoy the phoenix, a compelling collection of poems that follows the narrative of a twenty-something woman navigating through toxic relationships, mental health struggles, and ultimately finding healing. Its sequel, keeper of the flames, is expected to come out in mid-January. Meyer plans to read a small handful of teaser poems for keeper of the flames as well.

While the phoenix is written for an adult reader, Ruby Wren's Mindful Morning is aimed toward the elementary school aged child. A clever, rhyming picture book, Ruby Wren's Mindful Morning tells the story of young Ruby Wren as she learns to cope with big emotions when she is late for school one morning. Children will enjoy this cute story, all while learning a tool in self-soothing with their five senses.

For fans who stick around for the event, Meyer will be raffling off goodies. Plus, purchasing copies of the books can earn you extra entries into the raffle. Those who purchase their copies ahead of time and bring them to get signed will receive extra entries as well.
