Louis Goode Ends Up In Stateville, 2023 Joliet Prosecution On Hold

JOLIET, IL — Louis Goode, the son of well-known now-retired Will County Judge Carla Policandriotes, is now imprisoned within the concrete walls of the Stateville Correctional Center north of Joliet. Will County's prosecution of Goode, following his felony arrest in July at the Best Western in which he is accused of scuffling and fighting with Joliet police officers, is on hold as the Channahon resident serves out time at the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Prison records indicate that Goode is now serving a 2020 sentence out of Will County for domestic battery causing bodily harm. DOC prison records indicate that Goode arrived at Stateville on Sept. 28. He shows a projected discharge date from Stateville of May 19, 2024.

Now 38 years old, Goode was incarcerated inside Will County's Jail from July 22 until Sept. 28, when the DOC came to downtown Joliet to pick him up. Joliet police had arrested Goode, who lived in Channahon on South Joseph Avenue, following a Friday night incident at Joliet's Best Western hotel near Interstate 55.

In July, Joliet Patch reported that Goode's latest charges included aggravated battery to a peace officer, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and an Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Violation Warrant.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English told Patch that as an officer attempted to place Goode into custody, he pulled away and ran out a side door of the hotel. An officer caught up to Goode in the parking lot, and Goode continued to resist arrest, at one point placing a hold around the officer’s abdomen, according to police. Additional officers arrived and placed Goode into custody without further incident.
