Louis Goode, Judge's Son, Punches Another Woman In Face: JPD

While speaking with Louis Goode at Best Western, Joliet police say they found a woman in the bathroom with apparent injuries to her face.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police officers arrested 37-year-old Channahon resident Louis Goode, the son of retired Will County Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes, on Friday night following an incident at the Best Western hotel near Interstate 55.

For the second time this month, Goode finds himself living in the Will County Jail. His latest charges include: aggravated battery to a peace officer, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and an Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Violation Warrant.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the events leading up to the arrest of Goode happened this way:

  • At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the Best Western hotel for a domestic disturbance.
  • Officers made contact with Goode in a guest room. While speaking with Goode, officers found a woman in the bathroom with apparent injuries to her face. Police said officers learned the victim became involved in an argument with Goode in the hotel parking lot and Goode forced the victim back into his hotel guest room, where he punched the victim in the face multiple times before then taking her phone from her to prevent her from calling 911.
  • The victim was evaluated by Joliet Fire Department paramedics but was not taken to the hospital.
  • Meanwhile, police said as an officer attempted to place Goode into custody, he pulled away and ran out a side door of the hotel. An officer caught up to Goode in the parking lot, and Goode continued to resist arrest, at one point placing a hold around the officer’s abdomen. Additional officers arrived and placed Goode into custody without further incident.
  • Following the arrest, the Department of Corrections issued a parole violation warrant. While being processed at the Joliet Police Department, Goode complained of an injury, and he was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department. He was released from the hospital a short time later and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Two officers sustained minor injuries following the struggle with Goode, English noted.

Will County Jail records indicate that bail was set at $200,000 for Goode. He remains unable to post the necessary to regain his freedom.
