
Lydia M. Schwaegerman
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away at Silver Cross Hospital on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 79.
Lydia is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years Arthur H. Schwaegerman. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children Stephen (Karla) Schwaegerman and Diane (Kenneth) Dantes and step son Arthur Schwaegerman Jr. Her memory will also be cherished by her five grandchildren Lindsey, Lauren, Kenny, and Nicholas Dantes, and Ella Schwaegerman.
Preceded in death by her parents Taras and Helen Sholdra. Her son Dr. William Brazier (2023).

Born on March 22, 1944, in Ukraine, Lydia and her family courageously escaped the challenges of World War II in pursuit of a better life in America. Throughout her career, Lydia dedicated her time and talents to managing offices for various institutions, including Lyons Township High School, LaGrange Area Special Education L.A.D.S.E., LaGrange Village Hall, and, most recently, a financial company in Chicago.
Lydia was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church in Shorewood. Her free time was filled with joyous pursuits, including sewing, knitting, arts and crafts, swimming, playing the piano, and indulging her passion for reading, particularly in the mystery.

Lying in state at Grace Bible Church, 114 Channahon St. Shorewood, Monday, December 4th from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Nick Dedetsinas officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmqiust-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd. Joliet, IL. Sunday, December 3rd from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M
