Man, 79, Punched 3 Times In The Head: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — A 53-year-old Joliet man who lives on the city's east side is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Michael McCorkle attacked a 79-year-old man, punching him three times in the head.

Friday's violence happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 0 to 100 block of Wilson Avenue, which is where McCorkle resides.

McCorkle was charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen and domestic battery.

According to Joliet police reports, the victim asked where the plunger was located, and McCorkle grew angry, punching the man three times in the head.

Officers made contact with McCorkle in the residence and placed him in custody without incident. The victim was uninjured, police reports show. McCorkle remained in the Will County Jail on Monday, unable to post 10 percent of his $50,000 bail, jail logs show.
