Man Fleeing Joliet Police Crashes Into Pickup Truck: Cops
Jarvis Parkins disobeyed the stop sign at Youngs Avenue and Jackson Street, crashing into a pickup truck, causing a rollover, police said.

JOLIET, IL — Jarvis Perkins, a 36-year-old Joliet man with a revoked driver's license, led Joliet police on a high-speed pursuit Saturday night, crashing into a pickup truck, causing a rollover wreck, according to Joliet police.
After causing the wreck involving three vehicles at Jackson Street and Youngs Avenue, Perkins ran from his car, police said. He was captured in the 500 block of Jackson Street, and a Joliet Fire Department ambulance brought him to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Now, Perkins is charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, obstructing a peace officer, reckless conduct, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license.
Around 9:30 p.m., Joliet police tried to pull over Perkins on the city's east side near Henderson Avenue and Columbia Street for a headlight violation. Perkins, though, chose not to stop, accelerating his car in the hopes of avoiding capture, Joliet police reports show.

"The fleeing vehicle disobeyed the stop sign at Youngs Avenue and Jackson Street, at which time the vehicle struck a pickup truck that was westbound on Jackson Street," police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
The wreck caused a pickup truck to collide with an SUV that was driving east on Jackson Street, police said. The truck rolled over.
As for Perkins, he ran from his car, but Joliet police captured him on Jackson Street, police said. The 29-year-old man driving the pickup and the 35-year-old woman driving the sports utility vehicle refused medical attention at the scene.
As for Perkins, he lives in the 800 block of East Washington Street. He was freed from the Will County Jail late Sunday afternoon after posting 10 percent of his $18,000 bail.
