McFarland's Use of Postage Machine Investigated by Forest Preserve
McFarland worked for the preserve as the community partnerships manager until his resignation Oct. 21.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County is currently conducting a review of Joliet City Councilman Jim McFarland’s use of the Forest Preserve’s postage machine.
McFarland was being investigated by the city over his use of city envelopes for political purposes. The city has said it plans to turn the investigation over to the state’s attorney’s office.
According to a release from the district, the forest preserve will be looking at several personal mailings in City of Joliet envelopes that were postmarked Sunday, Oct. 18.

McFarland resigned from his position as community partnerships manager Oct. 21.
“Once the District’s internal review is complete, if appropriate, all relevant findings will be provided to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office for its review of the matter,” the release said.
