Mark Ramsey, now 58, was arrested by Braidwood police in connection with last year's mysterious death of Adam Watts, whose body was moved.

BRAIDWOOD, IL — Mark Ramsey, the 58-year-old Custer Park resident who spent most of last year in the Will County Jail in connection with drug dealing and concealment of death charges, is now serving prison time at the Illinois Department of Correction.
This month, Ramsey was sentenced to five years of prison for his conviction of unlawful possession of meth with intent to deliver. He was also sentenced to three years of prison for one of his concealment of death charges. As part of his plea agreement, multiple charges of possession of controlled substances were dismissed, as was a second count of concealment of a death.
Ramsey was also given credit for 397 days he spent in jail, May 20 until Sept. 27, 2022 and Nov. 22, 2022 until Aug. 14, 2023, court records show.

On March 5, 2022, Ramsey moved the body of a dead person, Adam Watts, from his place of death, with intent of concealing the place or manner of Watts or his identity, Will County's prosecutors outlined.
Last November, Joliet Patch reported that on May 14, 2022, "Watts' body was discovered wrapped in several layers of material and plastic, that was ratchet strapped into a removed truck bedliner and dumped in a densely wooded area, in rural Kankakee County."

The investigation into Watts' disappearance was conducted by the Braidwood Police Department with the assistance of the Grundy County Sheriff's Office. The autopsy ruled that Watts' cause of the death was an accidental drug overdose due to methamphetamine intoxication.
Ramsey now has a projected parole date of Jan. 14, 2025, according to the Illinois DOC.
