Michael “Mike” J. Kuban

Age 76, of Morris and formerly of Joliet and Minooka, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, with his family at his side.

Michael was the husband of the late Patricia (Seybold) Kuban, cherished father of Stacy (Eddie) Reed and son Michael P., devoted grandfather to Reagan, brother to Joseph “Jim” (Judith), Stephen (Karen), Joann (George) Buck, and Rosemary (Greg) Skole, brother-in-law to Harvey (Jill) Seybold and Scott (Katy) Seybold. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Anna Jane (Wilhelmi) and Joseph J. Kuban, brother Robert “Bob” Kuban, and brother-in-law George Buck.

Mike was born in Joliet, IL where he attended St. Bernard Grade School, and graduated with the class of 1964 at Joliet Catholic High School where he was a member of the football team. Mike was an avid Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed watching the Fighting Irish and NASCAR, playing golf, vacationing, and spending time with family, especially Reagan.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

All are invited to gather with the family on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Channahon, with a Funeral Mass to follow starting at 10:00 A.M. In accordance with Mike’s wishes, cremation will be accorded. His final resting place will be next to his beloved wife, Patty, in the Mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, masses or memorials in Mike’s name to Lightways Hospice (250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet) would be greatly appreciated.
