Midweek Will County Jail Blotter

Shorewood Police secured the arrest of this man from Memphis wanted on two counts of identity theft.

JOLIET, IL - They say that crime never stops and that's true for this week. A number of people were arrested for retail thefts, others for more serious crimes including aggravated discharge of a weapon and felony assaults. Some were arrested by Joliet police. Others by the smaller police agencies in Will County.

Steven Loftis, 23, 300 block of East Washington Street, Joliet, arrested by Joliet police on felony charges of aggravated battery to a police officer.

Lee Harris, 50, 300 block of Sherman Street, Joliet, arrested by Crest Hill police on felony charges of unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault involving discharge of a firearm.

Carzil Pruitte, 36, 100 block of Barr Elms Avenue, Joliet, arrested by Will County on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery.

Peter Figueroa, 37, 200 block of Dwight Avenue, Joliet, arrested by Joliet police on felony charges of resisting arrest and misdemeanor charges of committing battery.

Trevor Gavitt, 23, 11300 block of West 195th Street, Mokena, arrested by Mokena police on felony charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances.

Steven Simmerman, 57, Memphis, Tennessee, arrested by an outside agency on two felony counts of identity theft involving $10,000 to $100,000. This is a Shorewood Police Department case. For our previous article, read this Joliet Patch story on Simmerman.

Eugene Hughes, 39, 1300 block of Argo Lane, Lockport, arrested by Will County on felony charges of theft.

Jacqueline Crowley, 46, 21000 block of Snowberry Lane, Plainfield, arrested by New Lenox police. Court records indicate this case stems from a warrant related to a parole violation stemming from a 2015 criminal case that involved unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Jail records listed her name as Jacqueline Vantichelt, but she has a criminal record under the last name of Crowley.
