2 People Charged in Morris Mobile Meth Lab Explosion
Police found the suspects a few hours after the blast.

MORRIS, IL — Two people have been charged in connection to a mobile meth lab explosion Tuesday morning in a Morris laundromat.
Jonathan Walters, 39, of Minooka, and Nicole Gonzalez, 41, of Morris have both been charged with possession of methamphetamine precursors. Additional charges are pending.
According to Morris Police Chief John Severson, police were dispatched to the Wash and Dry Laundromat, located at 531 Bedford Road at around 7:49 a.m. for the blast. No fire was found in the laundromat, but there was evidence of a small explosion, Severson said in a news release. After a canvass of the area, officers found a suspicious item outside the business. The Kane County Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to the scene. Adjacent buildings were evacuated.

At 11:30 a.m. police found Walters and Gonzalez, who matched the descriptions of the suspects, walking near Route 6 and Black Street. They were taken to the Morris Police Department for questioning. After an interview and further investigation, they were both charged.
