Mojoes to Face More Charges

Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk says club was again operating above capacity.

At around 12:30 a.m. early Sunday morning shots were fired at the club. No injuries were reported, but police officers did notice the club operating above capacity, which is 500 people.

“There were police there,” O’Dekirk said. “The consensus was that it was well over 500 people.”

Last week it was announced that Mojoes would lose its liquor license starting at 4 p.m. June 14 and lasting until 4 p.m. June 17 due to a previous incident involving minors being around alcohol and operating above capacity.

The additional charges are expected to be handed down at next week’s liquor commission meeting.

During next week’s hearing, Mojoes also will face charges of letting an event attended by minors run past 10:30 p.m. and for creating a nuisance, O’Dekirk said.
