Mom Drinks In Joliet Bar With 4 Little Kids In Her Car: Police
Joliet police responded to Rey De Copas Bar, 723 Collins St., for a report of four young children left unattended in a vehicle.

JOLIET, IL — A 35-year-old Joliet woman was arrested by Joliet police Friday night after authorities say Adrienne Real parked her car with her four small children, and she went inside the Rey De Copas Bar on Collins Street to have drinks.
Real was hauled away in handcuffs on four counts of endangering the life/safety of a child and one count of resisting a peace officer.
Around 9:45 p.m., Joliet police were sent to Rey De Copas Bar, 723 Collins St., for a report of four young children left unattended in a vehicle. Officers determined the children, ages 2, 3, 7 and 7 had been left unattended while their mother, Real, was inside the bar drinking alcohol, police spokesman Dwayne English notified Joliet Patch.

A bar security guard had been approached by Real, who requested he go outside and check on her children, according to English.
"The security guard contacted 911 after discovering the unattended children. Officers made contact with Real and observed that she appeared to be intoxicated," English announced.

Officers placed Real into custody following a brief struggle. The children were released to the custody of a grandparent, and officers notified the Department of Child and Family Services.
As for Real, she was released from custody at the Joliet police station on an I-Bond, police reports show.
