Mother Choked While Holding Baby: Joliet Police
Ronnal Garcia-Cobos, age 21, pushed the woman onto a bed and began choking her while she was holding a baby, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — A 21-year-old resident of Joliet's 1000 block of North Prairie Avenue is now lodged in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Ronnal Garcia-Cobos tried to choke a young woman as she held her baby over the weekend.
Joliet police responded to Garcia-Cobos' place around 2 a.m. on Sunday, and took him to the Will County Jail, where he's charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to the arrest of the 21-year-old resident of Joliet's near west side:

- At 1:58 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of North Prairie Avenue for a domestic disturbance. During an argument, Garcia-Cobos pushed the woman onto a bed and began choking her while she was holding a baby.
- Garcia-Cobos then struck the victim in the face multiple times. A roommate intervened to stop the attack. Garcia-Cobos was placed into custody at his house without incident. The victim refused medical assistance and the baby was uninjured, English noted.
