Mom's Dying Wish Is To See Former Denny's Murder Defendant Out Of Jail
Bobbie Ollom's Joliet murder charges were dismissed last November as part of a plea deal. It's been three years since the Denny's murder.

JOLIET, IL — Bobbie Jo Ollom, a 26-year-old former Joliet resident who has lived in the Will County Jail the past three years, should be let out of jail to spend time with her dying mother, according to Joliet criminal defense attorney Chuck Bretz.
Last November, Ollom's first-degree murder charges were dismissed, and she pleaded guilty to armed robbery for her role in the Joliet's Denny's restaurant parking lot killing of 36-year-old Crest Hill resident Gregory Brown Jr.
Ollom remains in custody with a $5 million bail, and part of her plea bargain requires her to provide truthful testimony against her first-degree murder co-defendants, Christopher Parker and Joshua Topaz Anderson. Their first-degree murder cases have yet to proceed to a Will County trial.

Since 2021, Bretz has filed multiple motions seeking to reduce Ollom's $5 million bail, and all of his previous filings have been unsuccessful. Will County Jail records also list Ollom as being a resident of Seneca.
According to Monday's motion, Ollom's mother and grandmother both suffer from significant health issues and experience hardships due to Ollom's absence from the home.

Ollom's mother had one of her toes removed due to her circulatory problems, and she was admitted into St. Joe's hospital from Feb. 16-21 and again Feb. 28, according to Bretz.
"Defendant's mother's health is deteriorating rapidly and that it is her dying wish to be able to see her daughter before she dies," Bretz stated.
Bretz has asked that Ollom's bail be reduced from $5 million to $1 million, and he suggested that the judge put additional conditions on his client's bond, including house arrest with electronic monitoring.
Ollom's next court hearing is set for April 14 in Courtroom 405.
