Jefferson St. Body Dump Leads To Murder Charge

It's a Will County Sheriff's Office case.

JOLIET, IL - The Will County State's Attorney has charged a man from North Carolina with first-degree murder in the death of Danica Ford, court documents show. The homicide occurred on Nov. 10 and the woman's body was found at a remote site in Joliet Township near the Woodlawn Cemetery property off Jefferson Street and Houbolt Road.

The defendant has been in Will County's custody since Dec. 15 on a lesser included felony offense of concealing a death. However, Wednesday's indictment charges Deiontae Shawnrico McMillian with three counts of first-degree murder. It's a Will County Sheriff's Office case because the body was found outside the city of Joliet limits.

Court records state that McMillian "strangled Danica Ford, thereby causing the death of Danica Ford" on Nov. 10.
