PLAINFIELD, IL — One year after 19-year-old Plainfield resident Anthony Saucedo was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Prairie Activity and Recreation Center, at 24550 W. Renwick Road, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has filed first-degree murder charges.

Will County court documents were unsealed Thursday surrounding the 3 a.m. arrest of Damarian Woods, who is now 18 years old. Woods lives in the 5200 block of Meadowbrook Street, which has a Plainfield mailing address but is in the City of Joliet.

When Will County Judge Dave Carlson issued the warrant for Plainfield's Police Department to arrest Woods last week, bail was set at $5 million.

The criminal complaint indicates that Woods faces three counts of first-degree murder in Saucedo's death. The complaint indicates that on June 15, 2022, Woods shot Saucedo knowing such act created a strong probability of death or great bodily harm to the Plainfield homicide victim.

Last June, Plainfield Police Commander Anthony Novak told Patch that police didn't believe the shooting was random, and "preliminary investigation supports that this is an isolated incident and the location was not specifically targeted."
