JOLIET, IL - Funeral services are this weekend for Rebecca (Brackenrich) Kazecki, the 38-year-old Joliet Public School District 86 teacher at Gompers Junior High School who police say was beaten to death by her husband, who faces first-degree murder charges. The funeral service will take place immediately afterward, and the burial will be private, the funeral home announced.

"Becky was a loving, devoted and selfless mother before anything else. She touched the lives of countless children through her many years of teaching," her obituary notes.
