New Joliet Potbelly to Open Nov. 23

JOLIET, IL – Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open its new Joliet store Wednesday, Nov. 23. It will be located at 2575 Plainfield Road across from the Louis Joliet Mall.

The neighborhood hangout will feature its toasty warm sandwiches, hand-dipped milkshakes, tasty made-to-order salads and live, local music, according to a news release from the business.

Stacey Domzalski, the general manager of the new sandwich shop, has been with the brand for six years, starting as a shift leader and working her way to general manager.

“People in the Joliet community have been visiting a Potbelly shop across town, so I know the neighborhood is looking forward to having one even closer to home,” Domzalski said. “We are expecting to open our doors to a very excited crowd.”

Live music has been a part of the Potbelly experience since the first shop opened in 1977. Neighborhood musicians put a little rhythm into lunch at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country. Interested performers in and around Joliet should contact the new shop manager to apply and to schedule an audition.

To celebrate the launch of the new location, Potbelly Sandwich Shop will host its traditional pre-opening Oven Warming event on Nov. 22 between 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. The shop will donate proceeds from the event to the Plainfield Central High School Parent Teacher Student Organization.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop will consider fundraising requests to support neighborhood non-profit organizations beginning 30 days after opening. For more information or to initiate a fundraising request, stop by your neighborhood Potbelly shop to speak with the general manager.

The new Potbelly Sandwich Shop will include about 30 staff members, ranging from customer service to managers, and is still hiring. The shop and the drive-thru will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Delivery service will start on opening day and will be available Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with minimum orders of $25.

Another Potbelly is located at 2613 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet.
