So far, Pop's has not announced the date for its grand opening. For years, the property was a Boston Market and that closed during the coronavirus pandemic in April 2020.

Back in January, Joliet Pop's franchise owner Joe Haberkorn told Joliet Patch that he plans to become a strong community partner and use his new fast-food restaurant to help support Joliet's schools. Haberkorn said he is purchasing the Boston Market property and "he should have the keys within a month."

"I really like the Joliet area," he remarked. "I'm a big, big, fan of the Pops" concept.
