Abline “Abby” Turk, age 86, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 3, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

Born September 6, 1936 in Scanlon, FL she was the daughter of the late John Cornelius and Lottie Pearl (Haynes) Guthrie. She married Rudolph Edward Turk, and they enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing January 20, 2005.

Abline retired from St. Francis Academy as a Cafeteria Manager for the Diocese of Chicago.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished being “Gi-Gi” to her great-grandchildren. She loved quilting, following her Chicago White Sox, and fishing, including earning the nickname “Catfish Ab.” She also had a heart for those in need.

She is survived by her loving children, Monica (the late Stephen) Barichello of Joliet, Linda Ebelt of Iowa, David (Karen) Turk of Seneca, Christine (Scott) McAfoose of Addison, and Steven (Kelli) Turk of Joliet; 13 grandchildren, Anna (Shane), Ashley, Stephanie (Justin), Christine, Julia, Stephen, Amy (James), Ben (Maggie), Samuel, Lilly, Skyler, Kaylie (Jon), and Alyssa (Hayden); and seven great-grandchildren, Harper, Leah, Stevie Beth, Jude, Maybree, Case, Avery, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by husband; parents; one sister, Annie Mae Barnett; and two brothers, Charlie Guthrie and John Guthrie.

Visitation for Abline Turk will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 9:00 a.m., until the time of funeral services at Noon, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private.
