Obituary: Dianna L. Anderson

Her passion came alive most vividly when she could channel it through her creative senses.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dianna L. Anderson

Dianna L. Anderson, age 63, of Shorewood, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph Medical Center on September 24, 2025. Dianna was born to the late Bernice (Struck) and Edward Voss on May 2, 1963, in Joliet where she was raised and educated, a graduate of Joliet Central High School with the class of 1980.

Dianna was employed with a local bank for over 27 years, retiring in 2024. She became a familiar face to many throughout the area, to know Dianna was to love her. She had a contagious, positive vibe that brought people a sense of comfort and acceptance.

Her true passion shone brightest when she was able to let out through her creative senses. She was an incredible decorator and collector of many things. She found true joy in creating with her hands, whether it was crocheting, needle working, sewing, or strumming her guitar. She always found a way to create beautiful masterpieces, including work with different mediums. Her oil paintings left others speechless.

Survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Severn “Eric” Anderson; son, Matthew (Nikki) Stephenson; daughter, Ashley Nicole Stephenson; grandchildren, Damian, Nolee and Kyliee. Dianna is also survived by her sister, Sandra (Paul) Studer; her lifelong best friend, Carrie Mikulich; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her grandson, Shane Stephenson and her parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Dianna will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet. A service of remembrance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Per Dianna’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
