James P. Devereux
James P. Devereux, age 44, of Channahon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

He was born in Maywood, IL, the son of James P. and Barbara (Moore) Devereux, formerly of Westchester, residing in Channahon since 2001.
Jim graduated from St. Joseph High School, Westchester, with the Class of 1995. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA.

Jim was the ultimate sports fanatic and was a huge fan of Notre Dame, Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, White Sox and Bulls. He enjoyed coaching his children, brother and friends in all sports. He also loved playing hockey and loved the friendships he developed doing so.
Surviving is his loving wife of 16 years, Jennifer (Underhill) Devereux of Channahon; his children, Allie and Evan Devereux, both at home; his parents of Shorewood; his sister, Katie Gandy of Plainfield; his brother, Patrick (Stephanie) Devereux of Westmont; three nephews, Tyler Devereux, Jonathan Gandy and Brooks Underhill; his in-laws, John and Pam (Borella) Underhill of Minooka; sister-in-law, Brandy Underhill of Channahon; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends including Destiny Sparrow of Channahon.
He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Rich Gandy (2016) and Chris Underhill (2020).
Visitation for James P. Devereux will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet. Facemasks will be required. Due to capacity restrictions, private funeral services will be held following the visitation. Private interment will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to benefit the education of his children would be appreciated.
