Jane Ann Harris (nee King), age 79, of Coal City, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL after a long courageous battle with PSP.
She was born in Galena, IL, to the late Lawrence C. and Leona (nee Bussan) M. King on April 5, 1944. She married Charles Harris on October 9, 1965, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Joliet.

Jane was employed by Exxon Mobil at the Joliet Refinery for over 17 years as their Registered Nurse until the time of her retirement in 2005.
She attended St. Raymonds Grade School, St. Francis Academy High School, St. Josephs School of Nursing and the University of St Francis.

Jane loved to travel and managed to see many great parts of the world during her excursions. She was an avid reader, reading hundreds of novels of all genres. She was an accomplished seamstress and could create special items for all occasions. Jane loved playing cards. She participated in many Bridge clubs over the years and enjoyed playing Euchre with friends and family.
Jane is survived by her husband Charles; one brother, Terry King of Naples, FL; two sons, Paul (Amy) Harris of Morris and Carl (Marty Huff) Harris of Newburgh, IN and two grandsons, Christopher and Brady Harris of Morris IL.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Leona King and cherished grandson, Nicholas Harris.
As it was Jane’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception School Morris in Nicholas’s and Jane’s name or Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
