Her life was a quiet testament to grace and warmth, a presence that brightened the hearts of those who knew her.

Jeanne A. Lagger, age 81, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Amita Health Adventist Medical Center in Hinsdale, IL. Jeanne was born on March 1, 1944, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Catherine "Mae" (nee Dailey) Murray. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in 1962 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from University of St. Francis in 1966. She was a dedicated school teacher shaping the lives of hundreds of students in Joliet Public School District 86 for more than 30 years.

Jeanne is survived by her in-laws Mary Deborah (Les) Cox, Vicki (Paul) Martell, and John W. Lagger. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded by her husband Edwin J. Lagger; her parents; and her dear friends, Mary Stacel and Ann Marie Russell.

Family and friends of Jeanne A. Lagger are invited to meet on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where a Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Joliet Catholic Academy.
