An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed following his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, as well as enjoying fishing and playing golf. He also had a passion for music, and his eclectic collection of music was an important part of his life. He was also proud of his classic Cadillac Allanté convertible that he conned his brother, Mark, into keeping in meticulous condition!
Joe will be remembered as a loving and beloved son, brother and uncle, who knew no strangers, and possessed the ability to talk to anyone. Whatever the subject, he was able to carry on an intelligent conversation. To know Joe was to profit from his wit, intelligence, memory and sense of humor. He was a good man who will be dearly missed, and we will forever keep him in our hearts.
He is survived by his loving mother, Kathie Ferguson of Wilmington; his devoted brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Paula Ferguson of New Lenox; one adoring niece, Madalyn Ferguson; aunts and uncles, Patti Chizmark, Debbie and Mike Decman, and Bill and Lois Smith; and numerous cousins including Linda Zabel and Tommy Ferguson.
