Born on April 5, 1939, to John and Mae (nee Walsh) Morley. A daughter of Irish immigrants, Joyce was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. She was a parishioner at St. Ethelreda Church, a graduate of Mercy High School, Class of 1957, and an alumna of St. Xavier College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. During her college years, she formed lifelong friendships with a close group of fellow “valiant women.” She worked as a copy editor at SRA (Science Research Associates) before shifting her role to raising her family. Joyce will always be remembered for her warm smile, her kindness, her quick wit and sharp memory, and her generous heart.
Joyce was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Jerome Comer; loving mother of John Comer and Anne Comer; dearest grandmother of Katherine (William) Truhlar. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara (Albert) Fox and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
