Julia M. Saenz, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023, at her home in Morris, IL with her children by her side after her short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born January 22, 1938 in Joliet, IL to Pablo and Julia (Rizaras) Zaragossa.

Julia passed away after her short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Julia grew up and resided in the Joliet and New Lenox area for all of her life. She enjoyed her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her extended family. She will be remembered for Loving Nature and willing to help anyone. She was a mom and grandma to many! She always had an open door with an open heart.

Survived her loving children, Frank (Christopher Berg) Saenz, Claudia (Richard) Wolf, Sylvia (Michael) Cioni, Catalina (Jamie) Fabela; grandmother of Angela (John) Rose and Eric (Jordan) Saenz, Bristiana Ferrero, Olivia Wilhelmi, Gino and Dominic Cioni, Fabiana, and Nico Fabela; plus 8 soon to be 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Thomas F. Saenz; her parents; brothers, John, Primo, Patrick, Jesse, and Simon; sisters, Manuella, Cecelia, Mary, and Angie; and her grandson, Tommy Grady.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.

Visitation for Julia M. Saenz will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Rt. 6 (at Deerpath Drive) in Morris. Additional visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Texas.
