Obituary: Lloyd Christensen
Marriage Encounter Counselor inspired all. Mr. Lloyd Christensen passed away at age 71.

Lloyd W. Christensen
Age 71, of Joliet, IL and formerly Chicago, IL, passed away Friday August 11, 2023, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. He was born September 11, 1951, in Chicago to the late Rose Anna (Lamb) and William R. Christensen. Lloyd was raised in Orland Park, IL and graduated from Marist High School. He continued his education, receiving a Master’s degree in Social Work from Dominican University.

He is the beloved husband of 48 years to Kathy (Kocich) Christensen; loving Dad of Erik (Jackie) and Brandon (Lindsey) Christensen; proud “Papa” of Brandon, Alexis, Connor, Blake, and Logan. He was a loving uncle to many.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie (Pam) Christensen and Shawn Christensen.

Lloyd, a retired Counselor, worked side by side with his sons. He aspired to improve the human condition and was always willing to help when called upon. He and his wife have been very active in Marriage Encounter through the parishes they have been members of over the years.
Visitation for Lloyd will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.)in Joliet, IL
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brookforest Ave. (Rt. 59) Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lloyd’s name can be made to The American Heart Association.
