Loretta F. Bartosz, passed away at the age of 88, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Loretta was born in Chicago, IL, on May 12, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (nee Schlieben) Bartosz.

Loretta waitressed for many years in Chicago, and never met a stranger. Family was everything to her, instilling love, determination, and care into her children and grandchildren. She was a grandma to everyone and mentored so many. You could find her fishing anywhere she was allowed; it was such a great joy for her. She loved to play dice and color pictures.
Loretta is the loving mother of Marcos (Samantha) Gonzalez, Denise Dohney, Derrek (Veronica) Stein, Kimberly Stein, and Loral (John) Sadowski; loving grandmother of Allison Boland and 25 additional grandchildren; and cherished great-grandmother of seven.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kurt Stein; and grandsons Jason and Brian Stein.
Visitation for Loretta F. Bartosz will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 3:30 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
