Former Joliet resident, who moved to Wilmington to be closer to family passes away at age 76.

Margaret M. Davis, passed away at the age of 76, on February 5, 2025, at Ascension St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee, IL. She was born on June 22, 1948, to the late Chester E. and Genevieve M. (nee Fuhrmann) Onderisin and lived in the Joliet area until she moved to Wilmington in 2019 to be with her daughter’s family. Margaret enjoyed crafting and cooking big meals for holiday celebrations with her family.

Margaret is survived by her children, William B. (Jennifer) Davis III, Stephen Michael (Pamela) Davis, and Jenna L. Davis; four adored grandchildren, Caleb Davis, Marissa Davis, Michael E. Davis, and Andrew Boersma; one great-granddaughter, Aveya Graf; her sister, Therese A. (James R. Postel) Onderisin; and her nieces and nephew, Amy Postel, Sarah Postel, and Gregory Postel.

She is preceded in death by her former husband, William B. Davis, Jr.; her parents; her beloved grandmother, Theresa Fuhrmann; her sister, Elaine M. Onderisin; and her partner, Danny Lee Shaw.

A Memorial Gathering for Margaret M. Davis will be celebrated along with her sister, Elaine M. Onderisin (2021) at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd.(at Essington Rd.), Joliet, on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Joliet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Wounded Warriors Project.
