Pauline A. VanMeter, age 85, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Meadowbrook Manor, Bolingbrook.

Born December 19, 1939, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Paul George and Despinas (Siagis) Niarhos. She was raised in Joliet, attended Joliet Township High School, and was a lifelong member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church where she attended Greek School.
She was employed for many years as a records clerk for Will County at the Will County Courthouse.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Tammy (Tony) Sullivan of Joliet, and Rick (Roxanne) VanMeter of Channahon; three grandsons, Alex, Nicholas and Dallas VanMeter; and a nephew, Scott Wietting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Madeline “Cookie” Wietting; and a step-brother, Milton Xidis.
Visitation for Pauline VanMeter, will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, at 10:15 a.m., from the funeral home to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Joliet, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow services be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
