Ramona R. Torres, age 91, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Lightways Hospice, with her loving family by her side.

Born July 31, 1933 in Chihuahua, Mexico, she was the daughter of Bernabe and Santiaga (Ramirez) Rocha. She and her husband came to the United States in 1956.

Ramona was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by her entire family. One of the greatest joys of her life was babysitting for her many grandchildren. She also loved cooking, dancing, music and travel. Ramona will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her laughter, her wonderful sense of humor, and her kindness.

Surviving are her four children, Irma (Fernando) Rodriguez of Joliet, Alicia (Xavier) Rodriguez of Plainfield, Michael (Sandy) Torres of Joliet, and Raymond (Dina) Torres of Joliet; ten grandchildren, Carla (Domingo) Tinoco, Jason (Lydia) Rodriguez, Daniel (Teresa) Rodriguez, Dianna (Shawn) Meinke, Nicole (Angel) Torres, Kristen (A.J.) Novotny, Michelle (Mike) Torres, Jessica (Jason) Rowland, Raymond Torres, Jr., and Nico (Gabrielle) Torres; 13 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Isabel, Cristian, Landon, Zoey, Zane, Addison, Ava, Alyssa, Lana, Audrey, and Sienna Rose; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Margarito H. “Mago” Torres (August 24, 2019); her parents; and four sisters.

Visitation for Ramona Torres will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
