Obituary: Salvador F. Gutierrez

Known for his spirited nature, adventurous heart, and friendly demeanor, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Salvador F. Gutierrez

Age 57, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away suddenly, Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Sal, a lifetime Joliet resident, was born on April 27, 1968, the son of Willard Salvador Gutierrez and the late Denise Palmer. He attended Joliet Central High School and was employed for many years as a laborer with local #68.

Sal was an active member of the local APA pool leagues, the Dickhead Biker Club, and the Belmont Little League. He had an adventurous spirit, whether boating on the river, riding his motorcycle, or going horseback riding, Sal embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of freedom that inspired those around him.

He is survived by his daughters and son, Jessica, Damon and Marissa; grandchildren, Amari, Aniah, Ashaun, Azyr, Makai and one more due in October 2025; great-grandchildren, Jhalani Skye and Ahnastasia Ann; parents, Willard and Aida Gutierrez; siblings, Robert, Angelina, Nicholas (Jennifer), Vincent (Ania), and Daniel Gutierrez; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by his mother, Denise and brother, Michael Anderson.

Visitation for Sal will be Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd), Joliet. A prayer service will begin at 4:00 p.m.

As it was Sal's request, cremation rites will be accorded after services.
