Steven H. Keith, Sr.

Steven H. Keith, Sr., age 71, of Joliet and formerly of Chicago, passed peacefully at home Friday morning, February 28, 2025.

He was born December 1, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Virene (Murphy) and Fred Keith.

Steve, a retired carpenter, had been a proud member of local 1539, now local 13 for over 40 years. Steve never stopped moving, always had a project to complete. He enjoyed gardening with Sue, painting, collecting WWII books, and Anheuser Busch memorabilia (a member of the ABA).

He is the beloved husband of 53 years to Susan (Haynes) Keith; loving father of Steve (Kimberly) Keith, Jr. and Ron Keith; proud grandfather of Marie and Henry. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Keith; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother, Virene Sasak; father, Fred Keith; and his sister-in-law, Nilda Keith.

Visitation for Steve will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet. As it was Steve's request, cremation rites will be accorded following his visitation.
