Officials say they are reviewing department policies around the surveillance system, but have not released further details about what the employees are accused of doing.

Joliet honors Neighborhood Hero Award recipients for 'taking pride' in their community (shawlocal.com) — Joliet has named 18 homes across the city as 2026 Neighborhood Hero Award winners for standout landscaping, maintenance, and curb appeal, with recipients honored at the Sept. 1 City Council meeting. Then Whitmer called Trump (jhnewsandguide.com) — Work on the Brandon Road Interbasin Project near Joliet, designed to block invasive carp from reaching Lake Michigan, was suddenly restarted after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer personally appealed to President Trump. The move ends a mysterious Trump administration stop-work order and lets engineers resume installing protective technologies in the Des Plaines River just outside Joliet.
