The 6-year-old child let Joliet police inside the house, and the officers overheard a disturbance on the second floor. Madia was found in a bedroom and that's where his arrest was made.

Officers located the 38-year-old woman in another bedroom.

Joliet police say Madia had an angry outburst, and he grabbed the victim by her hair and slammed her head against the wall multiple times, causing her to fall to the floor.

Madia then retrieved a handgun from his bedroom and returned to the bathroom and pointed the handgun at the victim, threatening to shoot her.

Madia then fired the handgun twice into the bathroom floor and once into the bedroom floor. The victim was not struck by the gunfire. Officers recovered a loaded handgun from the bedroom.

While officers were taking Madia into custody, they saw marijuana and narcotics inside his home. Officers and detectives obtained an overnight search warrant and recovered more than 800 grams of suspected cannabis, suspected LSD, commercial grade fireworks and ammunition.
