Plainfield South In 'No Immediate Danger': Joliet Police
Late Thursday night, Joliet Police Department took to Facebook to announce that many officers will be positioned at Plainfield South HS.

JOLIET, IL — Very late Thursday night, members of the Joliet Police Department took to their Facebook page to let people know "there will be an increased presence of officers at Plainfield South High School during arrival on Friday."
"This is being done out of an abundance of caution due to an unsubstantiated threat that has come to our attention," Joliet police revealed.
According to social media, "the Joliet Police Department takes all threats seriously, and we are working closely with school administration to ensure the safety of all students and staff. We want to emphasize that there is no immediate danger, and we are taking these precautions as a proactive measure."

The Joliet Police Department Facebook received over 100 shares and a number of comments within the first hour of the announcement.
"Every one be safe out there, thank you, Joliet police Department for what you all do," one person wrote.

A woman replied to the Joliet police post by commenting, "I’m a parent of child that has went through a school shooting recently, and we need different solutions other then thoughts and prayers because it’s obvious that doesn’t work."
Another person responded on the Joliet Police Facebook page, "I’m so tired of the violence in this world. God protect us all!"
